Justice Saqib Nisar takes oath as 25th chief justice of Pakistan
ISLAMABAD ( 31 Dec) : President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Justice Nisar at a ceremony held at the presidency. The president had appointed Justice Nisar as the country’s top judge on Dec 7, 2016. Justice SaqibNisar started his legal profession as an Advocate in 1980 and was enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court in 1982 and as an Advocate of the Supreme Court in 1994. In 1998 he was elevated as the Judge of the High Court and of the Supreme Court in 2010. Previously Justice Nisar has served as Secretary general of the Lahore High Court Bar Association and was appointed as the Federal Law Secretary in 1997.
